Shoulder Prehab Class

Prehab means exercises to prevent injury. Acrobatic sports use the shoulders more so than others, therefore prehab to prevent injury needs to be performed regularly to meet the demands of the sport.

In this class Kate visually & physically takes you through her 3 key points to prevent injury of the shoulders: Mobility, Stability & Recovery.

Topics covered: Active shoulder range of motion, posterior shoulder strengthening, rotator cuff strengthening through range, scapular setting, soft tissue release and shoulder stretching.

This class requires a resistance-band, a massage ball & foam roller and a small weight (you can use a full bottle of water!).

Duration: 36min, but with rest this class should take 45mins – 1 hour.

Level of difficulty: This class is suitable for all levels but aimed towards pole artists, aerialists, acrobats and gymnasts.

Back Prehab Class

Prehab is exercise to prevent injury, and needs to be done to avoid injury in acrobatic sports with high demands on the back and core. 

In this class Kate visually & physically takes you through her 3 key points to prevent injury of the back: Mobility, Stability & Recovery.

Topics covered: Passive and active spinal ROM, active back flexibility, basic core engagement, core exercises, back strengthening, balance work, glute strengthening, cool downs and soft tissue release for the spinal muscles, hip flexors and glutes.

This class requires a massage ball & foam roller and a small weight (you can use a full bottle of water!).

Duration: 1h 5mins

Price: £12

Hip Prehab Class

Acrobatic disciplines often require extreme levels flexibility, but to prevent injury it is so important that athletes are ‘bendy’ but strong at the same time to control their ROM and to prevent injury.

In this class Kate takes you through her hip prehab session using her 3 key points to injury prevention: Mobility, Stability & Recovery 

Topics Covered: Hip ROM, optimal hamstring, glute and hip stretches, active flexibility, how to improve dynamic stability, one leg standing stability exercises, groin injury prevention, hamstring injury prevention exercises, deadlifts, soft tissue release for the musculature surrounding the hips.

Virtual Prehab Classes - Terms and Conditions

  • The prehab videos available solely for the use of the customer who completed the checkout process.
  • It is forbidden to use the prehab classes as a teaching resource for classes.
  • It is not permitted to watch the prehab classes in large groups.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that you feel sufficiently warmed up throughout each class. If you do not feel fully warmed up, pause the class and take some extra time to continue your warm up.
  • If you are injured you must take extra care when taking the classes, it is designed for people before they are injured. You must also obtain permission from your doctor/therapist prior to starting the classes to ensure that it is safe for you to do them.
  • The prehab videos are suitable for all levels but not recommended for complete exercise beginners.
  • You must ensure that your training space is safe before taking the class.
  • If a section in the prehab class feels too advanced for you, please sit it out and resume on the next exercise or step that you feel more comfortable with.
